Why solar?

The rapidly increasing population and development of the global economy, as well as the heavy use of fossil fuels is substantially raising the emission of CO2 gases, affecting climate change and threatening the natural ecological balance. Electricity is the major source of energy in the United States and is used to power homes, businesses, and communities.  According to the EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency), the combustion of fossil fuels to generate electricity is the largest single source of CO2 emissions in the nation, accounting for about 37% of total US greenhouse gas emissions today.

To avoid serious consequences such as water shortages, food crises, and worsening pollution, we must find sustainable energy solutions.

Solar energy is the world’s most abundant energy source, and indefinitely renewable. The advent of photovoltaic (PV) solar cells has unveiled a promising source of energy, with the potential to meet peak demands and energy security needs (PV cells are the predominant constituents of solar panels used today).  According to a MIT report, Future of Solar Energy, current crystalline PV technology is capable of generating multi-terawatt-scale power, good enough to take us into a clean energy future (http://mitei.mit.edu/futureofsolar).  Geographic locations in Germany, Italy, and California, with the utilization of PV solar will
reach grid-parity in a few years – in other words, generating power at a levelized cost of electricity that is less than or equal to the price of purchasing power from the electricity grid.

Atri Technology is committed to contributing to the advancement in solar technology, providing smarter energy solutions, and making large-scale solar installations that are needed to curb our carbon emissions in the future.
